Citizen: An American Lyric - Resources
The Office of First-Year Experience offers resources to support the reading and teaching of Citizen: An American Lyric.
For faculty interested in using Citizen: An American Lyric in the classroom, the Office of First-Year Experience will be developing guides and assignments during the spring semester. Graywolf Press provides a number of resources on its page “Citizen in the Classroom, Citizen in the World.” Claudia Rankine’s website also provides useful resources and tools for classroom use.
Students can find valuable information about Citizen and Rankine on her website including a bio, interviews, reviews, and links to related works. Students should mark their calendars for two important Common Book events:
- KU Common Book discussions – Sunday, August 20, 2017, 1:00-2:30 pm in various locations (we will communicate at Orientation and after about your specific Common Book discussion location)
- An evening with Claudia Rankine, Thursday, September 7, 7:00 pm in the Lied Center
