Seminars enroll fewer than 22 students, making it easy to meet new people and explore campus as part of a small group

UNIV 101

  • +2-credit hour elective course (all KU degree programs include a certain number of elective hours)

  • +Taught by staff instructors who are highly knowledgeable about KU

  • +Focuses finding your people, exploring and navigating KU, and building your academic skills

  • +Open to incoming freshman and transfer students

  • +Special sections with full-time staff support for students who enroll with a 3.25 or lower HS GPA

First-Year Seminars

  • +Taught by faculty from a range of departments and schools

  • +Focuses on fascinating topics and transitioning to KU

  • +Open to incoming freshman students, offered in Fall & Spring semesters

  • +Fulfills KU Core 34 US or Global Culture goals (3 credit hour course)

Transfer Seminars

  • +Taught by faculty from a range of departments and schools

  • +Focuses on fascinating topics and transitioning to KU

  • +Open to incoming transfer students (students with some college experience after high school), offered in Fall & Spring semesters

  • Offered in the Fall & Spring semesters

  • +Fulfills KU Core 34 US or Global Culture goals (3 credit hour course)
