Meet the Instructor...

Do you have photos or mementos in your office that have a special story? 

I have a little cartoon squirrel that my brother cut out of a book at his kindergarten and gave to me as a birthday present when he was 4 and wrote his name on it in his baby writing. It is framed on my desk.

Do you have any furry family members, or are you a plant parent? 

I have two cats - Dido (evil) and Daphne (sweet). Dido likes climbing the curtains, breaking ornaments, scratching furniture, and eating flowers and plants.

What was the specific moment or book that made you realize, "I want to study this forever"? 

I had an illustrated copy of Homer's Odyssey with the most incredible, dramatic illustrations of Odysseus' adventures. I was hooked!
