Program Highlights

Taking a First Year Seminar was one of the best decisions I could’ve made for myself. College was a major change for me, and it really took a toll on my mental health. Being in a smaller class setting and getting a more one-on-one experience with my instructor was one of the things that changed my experience.

This seminar helped me discover I am more capable and self-aware than I realized. It showed me I thrive when I challenge myself and step outside my comfort zone. It strengthened my confidence as a student and helped me better understand who I am becoming as a person.

I love the intellectual curiosity of these students! We were able to use videogames as a platform to discuss responsible production and consumption, the line between self-care and escapism, and what it means to live a good life. I hope these conversations will stick with them as they will with me.
